    Rewiring after the floods

    It is recommended that any electrical accessories that have been submerged in floodwaters for any length of time be replaced.

    It is recommended that any electrical accessories that have been submerged in floodwaters for any length of time be replaced.

    There are two very important reasons for this. Firstly, terminations may be contaminated by debris, mud or possible corrosion which may lead to hotspots and dangerous situations and secondly, interconnections between plugs and sockets can be similarly affected. The problems will only be exacerbated over time and could result in further drama!

    It is better to be safe than sorry.
