The purpose of this document is to provide an overview of the solutions that are now available for residential apartments and gated communities and to give the reader a deeper understanding of the underlying technologies and the benefits that can be delivered.

Specifically, the aim of this paper is to arm the stakeholders of the projects with relevant information to make an informed decision regarding the type of solution to employ: the difference in cost, features, benefits and technological risk.
