NETGEAR enhances ReadyNAS Ultra Systems with new features

NETGEAR has announced three new enhancements to its ReadyNAS Ultra family of high performance systems.

NETGEAR has announced three new enhancements to its ReadyNAS Ultra family of high performance systems.

Two new ReadyNAS Remote mobile apps seamlessly extend stored digital content beyond the desktop to Apple iOS and Android mobile devices.

This “private cloud” enables easy connections from mobile platforms to personal music, movies, photos and files stored at home. ReadyNAS users may download, upload, view and edit their content securely from across town or across the globe.

The new RAIDiator firmware version 4.2.17 increases HD video playback and transfer speeds by more than 50% in Intel NAS Performance Toolkit testing. In addition, support for the latest 3TB hard drives delivers the highest possible storage capacity.

Prices have now been lowered across the product line. Power users can bring Intel Atom-powered storage systems into home networks at the lowest cost ever.

“Consumer NAS products with remote mobile client access will continue to be an important alternative to cloud services, catering to Australian’s who don’t trust cloud services either because of security issues or simply because they don’t want to add another layer of complexity,” says NETGEAR ANZ director of consumer channels Brad Little.

“With NETGEAR’s ReadyNAS Ultra Family, we are committed to providing mobility and performance to our customers, with the best price on the market”

Recently ranked by Gartner as the worldwide leader in sub-$5,000 storage systems based on revenue, NETGEAR continues to lead the consumer NAS market by leading the charge in producing products that keep pace with changing consumer behaviours.
