An award-winning LED lighting technology that is up to 85% cheaper to run and safer than incandescent light bulbs and compact fluorescent lamps has been introduced in Australia.

An award-winning LED lighting technology that is up to 85% cheaper to run and safer than incandescent light bulbs and compact fluorescent lamps has been introduced in Australia.

The environmentally friendly LED light bulbs come in 15 different shapes and sizes and contain no harmful mercury.

A major report from US Federal Environment Agency president Jochen Flasbarth found that: “The presence of mercury is the downside to energy-saving lamps. The positive and necessary energy savings of up to 80% as compared with light bulbs must go hand in hand with a safe product that poses no risks to health.”

Liquidleds Lighting in Australia and New Zealand managing director Michael Moskvin says the environmentally friendly LED light bulbs consume from 1.5-15W of energy and can last for up to 15,000 hours compared to just 1,000 hours for that of a typical light bulb.

“Many consumers are worried about increasing electricity costs,” Michael says.

“With environmental friendly technology on the rise, LED light bulbs come with a green promise to remain safer for the environment during and after use.”

LED light bulbs are compliant with international RoHS, CE, UL, cUL safety standards and include patented technologies and TUV Rheinland safety certifications.

“They are also dimmable, allowing for an ideal ambiance in a room,” Michael added.

“They are safe to the touch and safe to be used in any household and commercial application because they run cool.”
