Smart Wiring™ and CEDIA join on accreditation

    04 March 2010 | Industry news
The Smart Wired® Consortium and CEDIA have agreed to recognise each other’s qualifications.

The Smart Wired® Consortium and CEDIA have agreed to recognise each other’s qualifications.

The agreement establishes a mutual pathway for both Smart Wired® and CEDIA accredited members to receive joint accreditation.

The change is expected to improve the skills and training of both groups, and ensure consumers have access to the very best in professional custom installation services.

“CEDIA is a world leader in the design and delivery of home automation services,” John Fennell from the Copper Development Centre said.

The CDC is a member of the Smart Wired® Consortium.

“For our installers and designers this means access to the very best in custom installation skills and knowledge,” Mr Fennell said.

According to CEDIA’s Executive Director, Stephen Miller, the move offers a great blend of opportunities for the members of both groups.

“Smart Wiring is now in over a third of new homes and renovations in Australia and so this accreditation will deliver important marketing and promotional options for our members,” Stephen Miller said.
