    ZigBee telecom services will deliver next generation value-added services

    The ZigBee Alliance has announced the certification of 13 products from three different companies using ZigBee telecom services.

    The ZigBee Alliance has announced the certification of 13 products from three different companies using ZigBee telecom services.

    These are the first wave of products certified to deliver value-added services ideally suited for mobile network operators, businesses and government agencies. The Alliance has also made this standard available for free public download.

    The mobile location-based services market is expected to exceed $12 billion by 2014 according to Juniper Research. These services will help businesses grow their customer reach by expanding communication through advertising improved product information and simplifying the process of locating missing objects and even people.

    “These ZigBee telecom services products represent the first step in spurring next generation value-add services technology that will take advantage of existing telecom networks,” says ZigBee Alliance chairman Bob Heile.

    “ZigBee telecom services is the single standard delivering a myriad of ways for telecom network operators to drive innovation, expand offerings and enable new solutions to meet new and existing business challenges.”
