Crestron to end current distribution arrangement with Hills
Industry heavyweight Crestron Electronics has officially announced that it will be terminating its current distribution deal with Hills, effective as of 1 July 2015.
Hills will remain the local distributor of Crestron’s new Pyng platform, but all other products will move over to Crestron’s local subsidiary.
Speaking exclusively to Connected Home, Crestron Asia Pacific chief executive Stuart Craig explains that the move is a very positive sign for the company and the local industry as a whole.

“It’s a very good sign for the industry when a company like Crestron decides to make such a considerable investment,” Stuart says.
“When it comes to technology, Australia has always been a country of early adopters, which makes companies sit up and take notice.
“The parting with Hills has been amicable, and it will still play a big role in our business moving forward. It will be the exclusive distributor of Pyng, which is already proving to be a popular choice among our dealers.
“Mainly, the move will mean that all of the great programs Crestron offers in the US – for example, A+ Education, Dealer Rewards, etc – will now be offered here.”
Crestron has been on a mission recently, recruiting experts in its technology to ensure the handover will be seamless. Among its high profile recruits is former CEDIA Asia Pacific executive director Stephen Miller, who will be heading up the company’s residential division.
