A no new cables extender from Gefen allows installers to cut installation costs by using the existing, in-wall cabling to carry high definition audio and video in the HDMI format.

The Gefen Coax Extender for HDMI comes with small sender and receiver units that are connected by just one existing coaxial cabling in any residential structure to deliver HDMI from the source to its remote display. Additionally, the signal will operate through a splitter that is already in place to deliver cable signals, and can operate in tandem with internet signals if the home is using a cable-based modem. Up to 300m in distance can be traversed using the one-cable solution.

The system utilizes ultra wideband (UWB) technology to enable a pristine delivery of 1080p HD from the source to the display. Multi-channel 5.1 Dolby digital audio is also supported and transmitted alongside the video in real-time.

With HDCP compliance and support for all home theatre devices using HDMI, including Blu-rays, Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and set-top boxes, the Gefen Coax Extender for HDMI offers a secure signal delivery that is both reliable and cost effective.
