Gefen's Professional Automation Control System (PACS) gives access to AV devices equipped with RS-232 or IR control using any network system.

Users can select sources, control volume, distribute video and more from any browser on the network. Existing automated systems can be controlled from anywhere, including home or office computers, delivering always-on access 24/7. The PACS makes it simple and effective to control HDTV displays, Blu-rays, add-on switchers, distribution amplifiers, scalers and more from a central interface.

Configurable RS-232 ports, IR remote and contact closure triggers can be programmed to store and remember pre-configured files or commands to easily centralise and automate AV access. Five IR blasters, four RS-232 and five phoenix connectors (positive and negative) give access to AV distribution. It operates through a secure Ethernet 10/100 BaseT connection and comes with a locking power supply to prevent disconnects.

"The new Professional Automation Control System is a great product for anyone who wants to extend their control of standard AV functions,” says Gefen president and chief executive Hagai Gefen.

“Its flexibility and reliability should enhance AV systems seeking alternate methods of controlling AV devices.”

When not in active use, the PACS automatically powers down to standby mode, eliminating power drains.
