Building on a long tradition of home-theatre innovation, Harman Kardon has announced the Australian release of the BDP 10 Blu-ray disc player, the Brand’s first Blu-ray player and most advanced source component it has ever built.

The all new BDP 10 takes next generation new media Blu-ray formats to the next level with unbeatable high-definition razor sharp video playback, and opens the door to a world of interactive sources thanks to its multitude of cutting edge technologies. Thanks to an elegant industrial design, the BDP 10 is as modern and stylish as it is technologically advanced, with the unique Harman Kardon user interface simplifying setup and operation to further confirm the BDP 10 as the perfect addition to any home theatre set up.

But the BDP 10 is more than just an exceptional Blu-ray Disc player in the Harman Kardon tradition. The BDP10 is backward-compatible with standard DVD’s, elevating movie enthusiast’s collections to 1080p (via HDMI connection) for higher-quality playback than your standard DVD player.

The BDP 10 provides access to exciting new interactive sources, thanks to the inclusion of BD-Live. This unique feature allows home-theatre buffs admission to a new world of interactive content including games, ringtones and other special content from the Internet, downloaded directly to the BDP 10 via the Blu-ray Disc menu.

Of course, it doesn’t stop at movies – this sophisticated player allows for simultaneous JPEG and MP3 music file playback from discs or USB memory sticks, for exceptional music playback through your home theatre system. And users can dazzle their families and friends with a photo slideshow presentation using the BDP 10’s simultaneous playback feature for image and sound files.

Last but not least, like all Harman Kardon Disc players past and present, special attention has been paid to the Audio performance to ensure the sound from all compatible discs is delivered just as the engineers intended with full, lifelike and natural reproduction through any high-quality sound system.

“The Harman Kardon Brand has a rich history of delivering the right combination of power, performance, flexibility and ease of use in the home,” says Geoff Matthews, Managing Director for Convoy International, Harman Kardon’s distributor in Australia.

“The introduction of Harman Kardon’s first Blu-ray Disc player balances our portfolio of home products, which have always featured great sound but, now thanks to the BDP 10, offer crystal-clear video playback.”
