Loewe, Germany’s leading premium television brand, has launched a Mediacenter range that combines good looks with impressive capabilities for multi-room music playback.

The Loewe Mediacenter brings together music from a multitude of sources and allows users to enjoy it throughout the home with simplicity and style.

The Mediacenter provides users with the means to play their music from virtually any imaginable source. As well as playing CDs and DVDs, it can play music stored on USB memory sticks, the integrated hard disk or an existing home network with a music server. It features an elegant iPod/iPhone swing-out docking station and incorporates an internet radio function for access to thousands of online music stations in addition to its FM radio receiver. Finally, external music sources can be connected to the Mediacenter via HDMI and analogue audio inputs.

    Music distribution throughout the home

The Loewe Mediacenter not only plays all the above music sources in the room where it is located, but also offers flexible and individualised distribution to other rooms via a home network (LAN, WLAN or optional Powerline).

Depending on the network capacity, different music can be played in five or more rooms. Thanks to the open system architecture which makes the Mediacenter compatible with other manufacturers, it is possible to play music in other rooms using a variety of UPnP-enabled network players (Universal Plug and Play). This might include a small internet radio with an integrated speaker in the kitchen, for example, and a PC with a network connection in the office.

Loewe offers two very convenient solutions for use in other rooms: the Connect Media flat-screen TV with integrated Network Media Player (or an appropriately upgraded Loewe Individual set) guarantees an outstanding audio experience with the impressive sound quality from the speakers. It is simple to select music tracks in a secondary room using the TV set and remote control. However, the new convenient Individual Sound Multi-room Receiver, with its impressive range of features, may be preferable to a flat-screen television in the bedroom or dining room. It can be conveniently operated from anywhere in the room using the innovative bidirectional remote control with a brilliant OLED display, which even shows the album cover art.

Simultaneous playback of several independent music sources

The Loewe Mediacenter can distribute several simultaneous music streams via the local home network. This enables the Mediacenter to play a CD or DVD, while music from an iPhone or iPod located in the docking station plays in another room and music from a USB memory stick or hard disk is playing in another room. Depending on the network capacity, several music tracks from the hard disk of the Reference Mediacenter or the Individual Mediacenter DR+ can also be played in different rooms at the same time.

Music information and album cover art

Information about every track - including release year, genre and album cover art - is acquired by the Mediacenter via an internet connection to the Gracenote music database. The information is assigned to the track the first time the CD is ripped on the Loewe Reference Mediacenter or Individual Mediacenter DR+. Tracks can be saved either in MP3 format (with 128, 160, 192 or 320 kb/s) or in real CD quality in the lossless encoded FLAC format (Free Lossless Audio Codec)
