Somfy Systems, Inc. expands the capability to control motorised interior window coverings and projection screens powered by Somfy with the Z-Wave Digital Motor Interface (ZDMI).

The ZDMI offers versatility, simplicity and compatibility. The plug-in design allows a simple connection to the ILT 2-way communicating motor head and can be set up in less than a minute.

The ZDMI doesn’t require additional external power and can be used with Somfy ILT motors including the Sonesse 30 with RS485 motor. It extends the ILT motors’ functionality by providing status feedback into the Z-Wave control environment which enables optimised performance through third party automation controllers. The value of the system is maximised through the operation of a wide range of interior and exterior ILT motorised window coverings including: roller/solar, pleated/cellular, 2” horizontal blinds, sheer horizontals and roman/woven shades, all of which can be controlled via PC, handheld remote, keypad or dimmer.

The ZDMI allows Somfy to provide integrators with a complete offering that enables them to benefit from all aspects of the project. The availability of the ZDMI allows users to experience the many benefits that Somfy’s ILT motors offer, while at the same time having compatibility with the full range of Z-wave controls to integrate natural lighting control with other home systems. The ZDMI adds to Somfy’s already robust product line and further demonstrates Somfy’s commitment to providing end users with products that enhance their control of motorised window coverings and projection screens.
